on the 14 June 2008, 'this way up' arrows were handed out to the public in folkestone.
people were asked to record a personal snap shots of the space they live within.

there is a familiarity with streets, corners, benches, objects that have a particular importance to us. there are so many ways of seeing the same thing, it may be somewhere we pass every day, or it could be a place of a specific memory; it may just be something that catches your eye. the personal narratives connected to these places and objects make them important.
