			andrew moran's piece will be placed in the foyer of the leas lift. overtly, it will take the form of a large wooden, freestanding, box. the box has a small aperture in one face, through which, observers can gain access to a hidden view. the view is video looped piece, of the lift's machinery in action displaying the mechanical, physical, tension so redolent of the Victorian period. the viewing method is suggestive of a seaside, 'what the butler saw', machine, however, the time based action is recorded and displayed via a digital production method, which suggests the leap in time from the machine-based 1800's, through the electronic, to the digitisation of the 2000's.
