georges house gallery, folkestone
the folkestone fringe presents the work of artists who have been working to create sound and visual work that translates sites of significance into the space of the gallery. artists have sonically and visually mapped their chosen space and will present their work to the public.
jez riley french presents his ‘four approaches to quitetude’, produced accross four sites in brussels.
paul baran, gordon kennedy and dave mccorry have been working on granton harbour, edingburgh.
lisa hall’s site is the infamous heygate estate in the elephant and castle, london, which is due for demolition following a massive decantation programme.
sally penfold, kelvin pawsey and gerry kelly have focused of the range of hills that delimit folkestone ranging from summerhouse hill to sugarloaf.
gallery visitors will also be able to hear a sound work that grafts these spaces onto each other.
