Words about art about music about myself. Myself and hotels.
My guitar is there when I wake up and when I go to sleep and when I’m in pain and when I’m okay. I’ve hauled it around for 10 years. The music comes and then goes and the strings rest and the body is still for a while.
A guitar is a good tool. You make it vibrate with your ideas. Abstract ideas made physical. Momentarily. Think of it as a conduit for what Knut Hamsun called “the whisper of the blood, the pleading of the bone marrow”.
Hotels are creepy.
