GHost CLHub

Sarah Sparkes & Ricarda Vidal | Exhibition, Performance & Events

GHost explores the various roles ghosts play in contemporary culture by bringing artists, writers, curators, researchers together. GHost hosts exhibitions, performance events and workshops called ‘hostings’. Past venues have included the atmospheric church of St John on Bethnal Green, a John Soanes church in East London, the haunted Senate rooms at University of London and a video booth at the London Art Fair.

Throughout the Triennial GHost researched and documented the hidden narratives of hauntings, unusual occurrences and curiosities in the Shepway area. The four month exploration of the origins and mechanics of ghosts and their apparitions was presented at the B&B Project Space on Tontine Street. The project involved working both in the public domain to collect contributions, and with visiting and local artists, writers and researchers to curate a series of performances, film screenings and a ghost story competition.
