LOST AND SOUND
Output Arts | Sound & Participation
Drawing on the popularity of metal detectors, used by enthusiasts to reclaim the past, Output Arts are constructing a new interactive audio installation. Specially adapted metal detectors will enable you to tune-into and play buried fragments of audio. The audio will be collected from interviews with the local population of Folkestone in outreach sessions and buried at various locations on Sunny Sands beach.
Earlier in the summer Outputarts put out a call for youth groups to take part in workshop sessions, funded by Shepway District Council, to help gather recordings of memories of loss from the local older community to produce new work to be displayed during the Folkestone Fringe, which will run for the August bank holiday weekend of the Folkestone Triennial.
