THE FARNINGHAM HOBBY HORSE PROJECT
Franny Swann & Ros Barker | Installation
The Farningham Hobby Horse Project is an extraordinary installation of 120 unique, amazing, quirky, funny, colourful and beautifully crafted hobby horses; a community project that was launched in June 2011 as part of the Kent Cultural Baton and the Kent Cultural Olympiad.
Installation artists Franny Swann and Ros Barker recreated an ancient Horse Faironce held in the Kentish village of Farningham, but with hobby horses gifted to them by Farningham residents and their friends.
The hobby horses will be visiting Folkestone as they journey around Kent until June 2012; effectively replicating their village community in each place they are installed.
