Resting Place is a series of individual live performances taking place sporadically over two years in response to events written in the diary of First World War VAD nurse, Clarice Spratling, and the journey she made.
The first performance was in Ramsgate in March 2014 with a celebration at the Bandstand outside her home in Ellington Park. In May, Southeastern Railways provided a train carriage to create a moving sound installation for the journey to London and Network Rail provided Charing Cross station as the second performance location.
At 5pm on Sunday 28th September, the third performance arrives under the Bell in Folkestone, courtesy of the Folkestone Harbour Company, to contemplate Clarice's thoughts before she finally left these shores for the horrors of France 1915.
This short performative work will be FREE to view and followed by tea and cakes made from recipes from Clarice's archive.
