In Mozart vs Machine, composer Dominic Robertson (the artist formerly known as Ergo Phizmiz) has pieced together ideas and notes from across history into an irreverent collage of music and theatre that blurs the boundaries of opera and performance art. Think you know Mozart? Think again…

Helen Seymour
Sun 5 Feb, 2pm
Brewery Tap

Helen Seymour

Helen Seymour
does things that are sort of poetry and sort of spoken word and sort of alternative comedy and sort of performance art. Pretty snazzy, eh? She likes talking about bears and her favourite thing is pretending to be one. She's also a bit obsessed with death but in quite a charming way. If she wasn't a spoken word human performance person she thinks she'd be a pharmacist from the past.

Trans/Human
Sun 5 Feb, 4pm
Quarterhouse Auditorium

Trans/Human

Adam Denton and Luke Twyman are Trans/Human which began as a collaborating at The Audacious Art Experiment HQ in Sheffield during 2011.

Employing several noise making devices and techniques in their performances, including mobile phones, radio, cassette tape, prepared electric guitar, processed drums, strobe lighting, contact microphones, field recordings and feedback systems, Trans/Human's concerns lie within the physical act of music making and its relationship to environment and audience.

Hunter's Loaf
Sun 5 Feb, 5pm

Hunter's Loaf

Hunter's Loaf
are the band formed by the founder Tunbridge Well's alternative record label 'Unlabel' and former Unhome guitarist Phil Avey. Unhome's album 'A short history of houses' became a touchstone of Kent's post rock fraternity, atmospheric and hypnotic, Hunter's Loaf's first album 'Soloman's Radio' continued in similar mood.

  Cosmic Thoughts
Sun 5 Feb, 6pm
Brewery Tap

Comis Toughts
Cosmic Thoughts is musically influenced by minimalist composers, bands and artists that have used repetition extensively in their work. Be it Steve Reich, Neu, Women, Underworld or Electrelane.

The general sound has been a natural meeting point for many a band from different genres who let short riffs stretch out into mantric repetition, allowing simple chord structures, repetitive
basslines, and intuitive play with texture to guide their ideas - the point where Krautrock, post-rock, shoegaze, psyche-rock, post-punk are all in waving distance.
  Alocasia Garden
Sun 5 Feb, 7pm

Alocisia Gardens

Blurring the lines between the emotive synth music of Vangelis or Badalamenti and more challenging industrial artists like Throbbing Gristle and Merzbow. Reece Thomas also run the prolific and diverse Vanity Pill Tapes, sending music from like minded artists all over the world.
