the folkestone fringe is a growing network of contemporary artists that established itself in 2008, during folkestone’s first international arts triennial. our aim is to showcase, champion, and encourage the interplay of free-thinking contemporary art and public space.

we are a non-commercial venture that receives commissions and offers briefs; our commitment is to curate and document the work of artists who, in response to those briefs, engage with the possibilities for creative adventure public spaces offer.

we're continuiously moving forward with an expanding and diverse programme of work in order to develop networks and collaborations among artists who are motivated by what we do.

if you would like to get involved please get in touch with us here.

the folkestone fringe is managed by a core team of four: gerry kelly is a musician and sound engineer working in sound and film, he oversees the folkestone fringe sound projects; diane dever is a practising artist, and works for strange cargo, running george’s house gallery in folkestone. she administers all folkestone fringe projects; denice dever is the studio manager for creatmosphere in london, she manages the folkestone fringe’s web content; and rowan whybrew, also a practicing artist, is responsible for the folkestone fringe’s design work.
