Folkestone is an art school DROPOUTS is a collaborative project by Ash Luetchford, documenting her creative community since 2017. It celebrates often-overlooked art forms- hip-hop, graffiti, skating, metal, and drag- within a gentrified town.
DROPOUTS aims to bring positive recognition to Folkestone’s homegrown talent amidst homelessness, addiction and stigma pushing them further into the fringes. Since starting, five of the original interviewees have passed. This documentary honours them and aims to inspire grieving friends to keep creating and supporting each other in their seaside town.
