A personal visual journal displayed within The Folkestone Bookshop offers an intimate glimpse into the artist’s authentic sketchbook. Through raw, unedited drawings, the work explores themes of mental health, body image, sexuality, and everyday thoughts.
Visitors are invited to engage with these honest visual entries, witnessing how creativity, repetition, and the act of drawing can become tools for reflection, relief, and emotional release in daily life.
Indu Mindu is a dynamic creative who works with many different mediums and focuses on a variety of themes throughout her work and practice. Main themes driving her work are the topics of mental health, relationships, vulnerability and intimacy. Making art is her way of coping with the world and exploring inner emotions. The influence of fairy tales, legends and folklore are significant for her visual storytelling and often borrows aspects of traditional symbolism to playfully depict certain atmosphere and moods her characters deal with.
