A slow event for all those who love walking, ancient history, challenge and adventure. Or who want to take time out to reflect and allow space for new connections.

We will walk together from St Martins Church on the outskirts of Canterbury, stopping to camp the night in an orchard near Lyminge, before continuing on over the Downs to St Eanswyths Church in Folkestone. There is no agenda other than a sharing of the journey, food and conversation along the way.

Shorter walking options are available.

Thurle has lived and practiced in Folkestone for fourteen years. Her text-based work is mostly solitary, labour-intensive and still so she balances this with meditative walks out along the coast and into the hills behind the town.

This year, as part of Openartfolke25, she has chosen to share her love of walking in the Kentish countryside. In the spirit of the Kentish Queens she hopes this adventure together will help to strengthen and enrich both herself and whoever can join in.

A huge thanks to Openartfolke member Jackie Brown for her support and hosting our overnight camp!
