On Saturday, 16th August, join artist Alison Neighbour for a guided ceremonial version of The Chalk Path, a geolocated audio walk through the Deep Time of the chalk cliffs in Folkestone Warren.

The Sea is both beginning and ending of everything on earth - where do we fit into this cycle and what layer do we want our story to leave?

Starting at Folkestone’s East Cliff at 8am, we will greet the day together before descending through the chalk cliffs to meet the sea. The walk is approximately 2.5km and will take around an hour at a leisurely pace. There are some steep slopes and uneven/slippery ground so please wear appropriate shoes and clothes for the weather.

We will finish with a light breakfast picnic on the beach in Folkestone Warren, with an opportunity to discuss the work and find out more about the process.

This event will be introduced in English, with the audio walk itself available in both English and French. You’ll need to bring your own headphones and smartphone with the audio walk already downloaded - see the event link.

Additionally, a book will be available to purchase with the text of the audio journey and images from the research process, from Folkestone Bookshop.
