The Rubbing Out Project - Andrea Carr and Gemma Riggs

Rubbing Out is a participatory drawing project that creates space to connect with species facing a threatened existence.

#Exhibition #Workshop #Performance

Date: Saturday 27th September
Opening Times: 11.00 - 17.00

Location: Rebels Coffee Folkestone, Tontine Street CT20 1JR

Rubbing Out is an interactive environment where you encounter hand-drawn images of endangered animals. We invite you to spend time with artists and ecologists to engage in a unique process of reflection, dialogue, drawing and ‘rubbing out’: to physically rub out parts of the drawings based on what we feel in that moment for the animal species in question. The process is exploratory and becomes an enquiry into the affective and emotional dimension of species loss. It becomes a cathartic and revealing process for participants and audiences.
