The girl suddenly stops in her tracks. She turns her head to face the window. The gallery space behind it is unusually empty, except for a life-size painting of a wardrobe. She is uncertain what to make of it, it's just a painting but it looks incredibly real. She presses her nose against the window, a sensation tugging at her that there is more to it than what it appears to be, that the wardrobe is important in a way she cannot quite explain except that it seems somehow linked to her. She feels an irresistible urge to enter the gallery and open its doors....
Angela Schutz is a mixed media artist and psychologist whose work is inspired by the rich tapestry of human experience and materials and objects picked from everyday life. Her curiosity as a psychologist takes us into the world underneath the surface and knocks on doors to forgotten memories and parts of our soul that normally don't show up.
Her art is an invitation to see and appreciate more of ourselves, to embrace the pieces that seem broken, and to discover the beauty in what is easily discarded. Angela describes her work as "Art & Soul Work".
