DEEP LEARNING

Fri 16 Feb, Quarterhouse, Folkestone
20:30 - 21:00

Deep Learning aka Richard Pike is one third member of former Warp outfit PVT, founder of the Salmon Universe label and an award-winning TV soundtrack composer.

An Australian-born multi-instrumentalist Pike records elegant ambient music as a member of Forgiveness on Gondwana Records, sound-designs for United Visual Artists London and has made music for psychedelic therapy with Wavepaths.

His album Evergreen is described as “Hypnotic, fluid worlds of sound from the scattered clicks and hiccuping grooves of hand-scratched CD-Rs and plasticky softsynths. Evergreen explores themes of repetition, stasis, regeneration, and rebirth” in Bandcamp's Best New Electronic column, and:

“Constructed around skipping and CD glitch textures Deep Learning’s ‘Evergreen’ dances like sunbeams through a prism” - Bandcamp New & Notable

Richard will perform at Profound Sound for the first time with generative visual artist Maximo Recio (UVA).
